Teens

Teenagers are an integral part of our local church ministry. Our aim, grounded in the Great Commission, is to glorify God through the edification of believers and the evangelism of the world.

Glorify God

1 Cor. 10:31

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Like any youth group, we seek to provide an environment for Bible preaching with age-appropriate application, fun and unique activities, and Christian fellowship. However, our primary concern is the glory of God. While we want our youth group to meet the needs of parents and children alike, we strive to please God first of all with our youth group’s methods and motives.

Make Disciples

Matt. 28:19-20

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Our youth ministry seeks to obey Christ’s Great Commission by evangelizing lost youth, by encouraging them towards a committed, obedient life testified through baptism, and by teaching them how to obey the Bible and live their faith. Simply put, we seek to point youth to Christ whatever their spiritual condition may be. As Christ did with His apostles, we disciple by teaching and by building individual relationships with our teens. By building on the foundation of relationships, we desire to give teens reasons why they believe and direction through the ever-increasing adult issues they face.

Equip Believers

Eph 4:11-12

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Christ has provided to the church pastors and teachers to mature them for ministry for the building of His body. Our youth ministry is not a “church within a church,” but rather an extension of the ministry of CSCC. As an extension of CSCC, we seek to help teens mature in Christ and get involved in service opportunities, both in and outside our church. CSCC’s youth group presents teens with expository book series and series on practical Christian living, both tailored for teens to apply to their lives now. Our desire is to equip our teens for involvement, service, and faithfulness to Christ now so that they continue to serve their Lord as adults.
